RE: What's the ACTUAL dry weight of your Roo 21SS?

The sticker from inside our '07 21SS shows a GVWR of 6,559# and a UVW of 4,242#. Hope this helps. Feel free to email or PM me with any other questions. -Brad

RE: ’08 ROO, Another Front Bunkend Water Leak

Peep, try the new push-on trim FR is using with the bulb seal. It's cheap from an automotive restoration supply as it's a standard section. The way it seals just makes more sense. I bought a roll but haven't had time to do the swap.
Can you provide any additional details (what did you order and from where) on the roll of seal that you mentioned in your above post Scott? We experienced some leakage around our front bunk during a recent pull in some heavy rain.

RE: Expedition Sway

Welcome SSB. A fellow Ohio member (Chuck_S) pulls a 23SS behind an expedition. He is very active on this forum, and may be able to share some additional insights with you. Good luck!

RE: towing a htt

I've been told that towing a htt is awful!
That's the first time that I have heard that one. We have zero issues towing our HTT. The rig is stable and actually tows very nicely. Very happy with ours.

RE: Towing with a Ford Explorer

I would get a 3/4 ton to tow with.
IMHO...This seems to be a bit overkill for a trailer less than 5,000 lbs. My 1/2 ton handles our HTT (6,600 GVWR) with no issues.

RE: Rockwood Roo 23B Slide Out Malfunction

I posted last August, and we have not had a single problem with our slideout since the initial adjustment by the dealer (knock on wood). We still carry the spare bolts though. :W
Hey Russ...I see you are a stones throw away in Springfield. Welcome to the forum from a fellow Ohioan.

RE: ROO 21SS

Slide topper is a must. You cannot imagine how much water and debris can lay on the top of the slide.
The 21SS still has more pass through storage options and I love the dance area that is created by the slide and same side kitchen layout.
Couldn't have agreed more. We looked at quite a few models/lines at an RV show back in 07, and quickly narrowed our decision down to the 21SS vs. the 23SS. In the end, the floorspace and large flush floor deep slideout (with 4 windows) was what really sold us into choosing the 21SS. I think it all comes down to a matter of preference. Good luck on your decision!

RE: Pink discoloration on my awning.

We too have some small pink stains on our awning. I always figured it to be some kind of mildew from rolling up the awning damp (morning condesation/dew) at times. We use a cleaner made for awnings which does a pretty good job of removing it. Hope this helps.

RE: Do you dump your holding tanks after a weekend trip?

As a minimum, I dump after every trip out. I give the tanks a good flushing (via tornado) when at a full hookup site, a dump station with no lines, or at home with macerator. The tanks just get a quick dump when others are waiting at a dump station. I like to try and keep things clean.

RE: New Hybrid Owner

Welcome and congratulations on your new HTT. We too made the switch from PUP to HTT (back in early '07) and have never looked back...that is except for the memories. Enjoy!

RE: Black Tank Problems Fixed

I'm pleased to verify that the internal check valve in the Tornado works as advertised. A big plus! No sewage leakage.
Now THAT is very good to know!

RE: towing capacity

Welcome to the Forum
I will not go into a long complicated explanation but in my opinion (and it's just an opinion), I don't think this is a good match. Very short wheel base and very low payload capacity of the VUE are really going to work against you. Good chance you will also be over weight once you load up with gear and passengers for a trip.
I too agree with this posting.

RE: Starcraft 21ssd de-winterize water tank help please?

While drain valve is open, try using a piece of wire to "rod out" the small drain valve in the bottom of the fresh water tank. I had some plastic shavings (from when they tapped the tank originally) that almost completely plugged the drain. You may also want to slope the trailer (use wood, tongue jack, etc) towards the fw drain valve to help it drain. Hope this helps.
